Docparser is a powerful data extraction tool that helps businesses quickly pull important information from documents, emails, and even integrations like Dropbox or Google Drive. After the data is processed and organized, it is sent directly to the customer's preferred tools, saving them the tedium of manual data entry.
Though designed to be resilient and reliable, as Docparser expanded, it began hitting several limits in regards to its overall scalability. It soon became clear that a flexible, more cost-efficient solution was needed. This led to a migration to DuploCloud, a platform with infrastructure more supportive of Docparser’s needs.
The migration has been a game-changer for the Docparser team, allowing them to simplify their more time-consuming business processes and future-proof the business by building a more scalable infrastructure that can easily handle large-scale growth.
Today, we sit down with Manasa Shetty, Docparser’s Technical Delivery Manager, to hear about how Docparser’s recent migration to DuploCloud has changed the game for the business. Manasa gives us a peek behind the curtain at Docparser to share how the new infrastructure is transforming the way the team works, boosting productivity, and shoring up growth potential for Docparser long-term.
Without further ado, let’s jump in!
A Necessary Migration: Outgrowing Old Workflows
Hi Manasa! Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us today. Can you tell us what Docparser’s infrastructure looked like before the migration to DuploCloud?
Before migrating to DuploCloud, Docparser operated on a virtualized AWS infrastructure, which was fully managed in-house. The system was reliable and functioned well for a long time. But as our processing demands grew, we realized that we were quickly approaching its limits in terms of growth potential.
Why did Docparser need to migrate to DuploCloud? And when did the team realize it was time to look for new infrastructure?
It was late 2023 when we realized we needed a major software upgrade to our system. While mapping traffic flow, demand, and usage trends, we uncovered some considerable limitations in our existing setup. It soon became clear that our existing infrastructure had reached its capacity, and scaling further wasn’t cost-effective or even feasible. At that point, we decided it was time to explore other solutions that could better support our needs.
Although our infrastructure was hosted on AWS, we were also relying on a patchwork of tools for alerting, notifications, security management, and logging. Managing all of this in-house placed a heavy burden on our software developers, as it regularly pulled them away from core product development in order to handle infrastructure tasks. As our traffic grew, the performance issues became more frequent, requiring the team to spend a lot of time on maintenance, compliance, and security upgrades. Eventually, it became too resource-intensive and time-consuming. It was clear by then that we needed to find new infrastructure that could support our growth and simplify our lengthy security and compliance processes.
Around that time, Lindsay mentioned that the Corporate team was evaluating DuploCloud, which immediately caught our attention, especially because we needed Kubernetes support, which DuploCloud offered out of the box. It felt like perfect timing, so we planned the migration for early 2024.

Since this was Docparser’s first major platform migration, how was the overall experience?
While this was our first full infrastructure migration, we took advantage of the lessons learned from previous software upgrades to make sure everything went smoothly. Our team has a well-structured process for managing software upgrades, risky releases, and system changes, to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption. Because this was our first major upgrade, we spent considerable time understanding the nuances of the codebase and of DuploCloud. We also made sure to prioritize the customer experience by planning ahead to avoid any hurdles they may face, as well as identifying and working on the requisites well ahead of this migration.
We focused on things like thorough testing, managing dependencies, dealing with edge cases, and meeting the needs of our enterprise customers. All of this helped make sure that the migration wouldn’t disrupt user experience. DuploCloud’s team also played a big role in making this transition successful. Their structured migration plan, combined with our internal best practices, really made a difference. They were with us every step of the way, which made the whole process a lot easier.
What features does DuploCloud offer that made it the ideal solution for Docparser?
First and foremost, its incredible support for Kubernetes. We knew we wanted to migrate to Kubernetes for better flexibility and growth, but our in-house team lacked deep Kubernetes expertise, making an independent migration a challenge without expert support. DuploCloud not only provided the platform but also brought the specialized knowledge we needed. Essentially, they acted as an extension of our team, guiding us through the migration process. Since we own the code and really know the intricacies of our app, collaborating with them felt very symbiotic.
Another major factor was security and compliance. As our customer base grew, especially with more enterprise clients, the demand for more stringent security standards and certifications increased. Enterprise customers expect a high level of security assurance before they commit, which requires continuous monitoring, regular audits, and staying ahead of emerging security threats. DuploCloud offered built-in security and compliance support, guaranteeing that we could meet these enterprise-grade standards without overburdening our internal team.

Automation also played a huge role. Previously, all the tools required for logging, alerting, and security management required a good amount of manual oversight. DuploCloud integrates these operations directly into their platform, consolidating the whole process. Our entire infrastructure was simplified, making it easier for our developers to spend more of their time building software instead of maintaining it.
Setting the Stage for Expansion with New Infrastructure
How has the migration influenced operations for the Docparser team?
The migration to DuploCloud majorly simplified our workflows, which has been great for our team’s overall efficiency and productivity levels. One of the first major operational changes introduced even stronger management of access control and data security. With DuploCloud, access gets managed through a VPN and role-based controls, ensuring that only specifically authorized team members have access to sensitive data. And even then, that access is restricted based on need.
The migration also gave us substantial gains in logging and monitoring. Before migrating, the amount of data we could log was cost-prohibitive, and excessive logging would sometimes slow down our system. Now, with DuploCloud’s built-in logging and monitoring features, we can log as much as we need without worrying about cost or performance. We also now have full log access, which makes debugging much easier for our team.
In terms of workflow, one of the biggest benefits is having consistency across environments. With Kubernetes and DuploCloud, all our environments are now standardized. In the past, there were slight differences between the local, testing, and production environments, which sometimes led to issues that couldn’t be reproduced outside of production. Now, if something works in our local or testing environment, we’re also confident it will work in production. That consistency has really reduced the margin for error, so our developers have more assurance in their deployments.
And because DuploCloud handles the bulk of our infrastructure management, our dev team can now focus more on what they do best—building features and improving our software.
How does DuploCloud improve the overall user experience for both employees and customers?
For our customers, the experience remains largely the same, because most of the changes occurred on the backend. However, performance has definitely gotten better, especially when it comes to handling big tasks like processing large files or downloading bulk data. Before, sudden spikes in traffic could slow things down, but now, thanks to DuploCloud, the infrastructure manages those spikes without issue. With better control over how memory and CPU are used, things run more smoothly, even during high-demand situations.
For our team, the biggest win has been how much easier it is for developers to work. Accessing production services is now faster, so they can monitor and fix issues more efficiently.

Our team philosophy is simple: if there’s an issue, we fix it before customers can even take notice. In order to do that, we’ve built a robust alerting and monitoring system that guarantees that we’re always at least one step ahead. DuploCloud has helped strengthen our platform’s performance and reliability, making this process much easier. For example, if a customer plans to upload 10,000 documents tomorrow, our system is now prepared to handle that traffic without any slowdown.
How has Docparser’s migration set the stage for its future growth?
"The migration to DuploCloud wrapped in December 2024. Since then, we’ve been focusing on stabilizing the new infrastructure – making sure alerts are accurate, systems are running smoothly, and everything works as expected. It’s a typical phase after a major change, but it sets the foundation for what’s ahead.
This shift in infrastructure has really opened up new possibilities for Docparser’s future by giving us the tools we need to grow with confidence. One of the biggest advantages is that we no longer have to worry about managing growth manually. With Kubernetes handling scaling, we can easily expand to meet increasing traffic without risking system slowdowns. With automated infrastructure, seamless scaling, and stronger security, our team can finally stop worrying about backend issues and focus more on making Docparser even better for our customers.
What’s next for Docparser?
Looking toward the rest of 2025, one of our main goals is to continue optimizing performance. We want to stay ahead of customer needs and make sure that the system remains fast, reliable, and capable of handling high demand. At the same time, we’re taking advantage of the system’s newly expanded capabilities to push for even more innovation.
As well, Kubernetes offers a wide range of features that we’ve only just begun to explore. As we continue building on this foundation, we’ll be looking at ways to further improve the customer experience, making Docparser smoother, faster, and even more reliable. We’re excited about what’s next and confident that this migration has set the stage for long-term growth and advancement.
